Introduction into Carbon-based Hydrogen Carrier
Completion requirements
The world's current energy supply is largely based on diesel, gasoline, natural gas and coal. While these carbon-based energy carriers are mostly of fossil origin today, it is also possible to produce them sustainably on the basis of green hydrogen. Examples are green Methanol and Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG). Methanol and SNG could serve as hydrogen carriers, but they can also be used directly as renewable fuels. In this unit you will learn how green carbon-based energy carrier can be produced and what role they can play in the green hydrogen supply chain. Let's start with some basics as well as advantages and disadvantages.
